Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Binghamton University students attended a speaker series, known as TEDx, where audience members hear stories from distinguished people in and out of their community.

The theme for Sunday’s seminary was called “Stray the Course.”

Organizers hope the event teaches people that they can create something extraordinary by going out of their comfort zones.

"That crazy idea they thought was too crazy, it isn't crazy anymore. Basically they can walk out and say I want to change the world, I want to do something amazing, and these seven speakers from all walks of life came out and inspired me to do so," said organizer Stephanie Izquieta.

"Not every animal is out on the BBC in the Serengeti in the middle of nowhere, but there is things in your backyard you could be interested in and it can draw questions out of you," said Ben Eisenkop, a speaker at the event.

TED is a world-wide organization that helps to create similar events across the globe.
