Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The theme for this year's Dick's Sporting Goods Open could be "record setting," as officials from the open said they've seen averages of about 40,000 people a day.

Feeding those fans was a task mostly for Lupo's Original Spiedies, which is the biggest public food vendor at the open.

Lupo's went through 6,000 pounds of meat and 11,000 sandwich rolls.

"I think there's a lot of people here that aren't golf fans. They just enjoy the camaraderie of the people and like watching the pros play. Even though they don't like golf, they come out to see if because it's a great tour," said Marty Muller, of Valley Forge.

This is the 8th year Dick's has hosted the open and it has generated nearly $13 million for local charities.
