Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A local group pedaled 500 miles to raise money for animals.

Riders in the group Pedal for Paws started in West Chester, Pa., and will trek all the way to the Canadian border.

They made a stop Thursday at the Broome County Humane Society, which is a part of the 500 mile fundraiser.

"We don't as an organization actually accept money. All of the money goes directly to the shelter that we support and there are some 17 shelters that are on our list," said Viktor Ohnjec with Pedal for Paws.

Donation totals have yet to be counted. And the group will continue to accept money for the 17 shelters on its list, among them, the Broome County Humane Society.
