Albany, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Gov. Andrew Cuomo will be asking $30 billion from the federal government to help rebuild after Superstorm Sandy.

The money will help repair roadways and public transit, while also helping people rebuild their homes.

Grants and loans would also be made available for local governments and emergency services.

Some projects include upgrading power grids and expanding New York City's gasoline supply capacity.

Current estimates place damages around $50 billion dollars.
