Binghamton Council President Considers Run for Mayor

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The City of Binghamton gets an early look at a possible candidate for its next mayor.

Binghamton City Council President Teri Rennia announced Wednesday that she is considering running for the position in November.

She says "it's a very important time for (her) family and (she) needs to be sure that this is the right time for them."

She was elected to City Council in 2005 and would seek the Democratic Party Nomination.

She currently represents a part of the West Side of Binghamton.

Current mayor, Matthew Ryan, is in his final term.
