Binghamton University Faculty Member Arrested

Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) An audit and an investigation leads to an arrest of a Binghamton University faculty member, on Thursday.

Seshu Desu is charged with falsifying business records.

Additional charges are on the way.

Desu is the Executive Director of the Center for Autonomous Solar Power at the University.

The center aims to utilize the sun's energy to help local farms.

Desu was arraigned this morning in the Town of Vestal Court.

New York State University Police are the lead agency in the case.

It was a thorough investigation into Desu's international travel that prompted his arrest, including receipts and reimbursement records, dating back several years.

Seshu was a former dean of the Thomas J Watson school of Engineering and Applied Science.
