Binghamton Zoo Hosts Easter EggStravaganza

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Animals and humans will have free roam over the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park this weekend.

They will be on the hunt for Easter eggs.

The zoo at will open the gates to kids of all ages.

Oreo the rabbit will also be making a special appearance as the official Easter mascot of the Binghamton Zoo.

The egg hunt will be held from noon to 3:00 P.M. Saturday and Sunday.

"What we do is we hide baskets of eggs all the way through the zoo,"says Patti Searles of the Binghamton Zoo, "And the kids collect the eggs, and they turn them in for games, and candy, and prizes down in our education center. We also have the whole zoo open at the time."

Falcons are on display now, along with a menagerie of other zoo animals.

The event was only one day last year but response was so positive to the event, it has been expanded to two days this year.

It's $4.00 for members and $5.00 for non-member admission.
