Binghamton parolee arrested for guns in home

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Binghamton man on parole is in jail after a search warrant at his apartment turned up with three guns.

Amin Rashid, 31, was arrested last night at his apartment on 150 Moeller St. in Binghamton.

Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task force found Rashid in possession of two shotguns and a Beretta .22 caliber handgun, which had a defaced serial number.

Initially, Rashid gave police a false name, but after police successfully identified him, they found he was on an active New York state parole warrant.

Rashid was arraigned in Binghamton City Court and sent to the Broome County jail without bail.

The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force was assisted by Binghamton Police Community Response Team and the city's K-9 unit.

Charges
- Four counts, criminal possession of a weapon, 3rd degree, felony
- Criminal impersonation, 2nd degree, misdemeanor
- Was wanted on an active New York state parole warrant...
