Binghamton man arrested after shots fired

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Binghamton police announced the arrest of a man following a report of gun shots on the city's north side.

Police responded at about 10:50 p.m. Thursday to the corner of Morgan and Chenango streets.

There, they recovered a 12-gauge shot gun along with several 9mm shell casings.

Sunday, officials announced the arrest of Roger Griffin, 29, in connection with the gun shots.

They said Griffin initially gave a false name and is a state parolee under supervision in the Bronx.

Police charged him with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and sent him to city lock-up pending arraignment.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call detectives at (607) 772-7080.
