Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Eight months after a man was found dead at a home in Windsor, New York State Police arrest a suspect. Joshua Launt, 26, of Binghamton, is charged with criminally negligent homicide and assault.
New York State Police found the body of Ronald Gilbert, 51, Sept. 5, inside a home at 500 Gorman Road in the town of Windsor. An autopsy determined he suffered a subdural hematoma due to a contusion to the brain.
Investigators said there had been a party at the home on Sept. 3. They allege Launt struck Gilbert in the head during a verbal argument, which eventually caused his death.
A Broome County Grand Jury handed up an indictment and a warrant was issued for Launt's arrest. With the assistance of the U.S. Marshal's Office Task Force, he was located and arrested in Watertown on Thursday and brought back to Broome County.
Launt was arraigned Friday in Broome County Court and returned to the county jail with bail set at $2,000.
