Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The YWCA and ENCORE Plus held their third annual Bras for a Cause event in Endicott Saturday.

The event featured vendors, live music, games, and even offered free mammograms from Lourdes Mission in motion.

Organizers wanted to fight breast cancer by raising awareness and educating people.

They said they hoped people would take away one thing from the event: "To understand how serious it is and important it is for women to get their mammograms," said Carole Coppens, Executive Director of the YWCA in Binghamton and Broome County. "And support the YWCA's Encore Plus program for that work."

ENCORE Plus is a breast and cervical cancer health program that helps uninsured or underinsured women access free cancer screenings.

October is breast cancer awareness month.
