Town of Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) More details about the Broome County Sheriff's Office partnership with the nationwide program, Offender Watch.

The program keeps track of where registered sex offenders live while notifying the surrounding people within a specific radius.

Offender Watch now allows the Broome County Sheriff's Office to give an address for level 3 sex offenders.

For level 2, people can go a state-run website to see where they live.

"That's all kept track of by the Offender Watch and us. We have investigators that will go out to houses and knock on the doors and check on the people, make sure they are there and obeying the rules" said Broome County Sheriff, David Harder.

According to Harder, there are between 500 and 600 registered sex offenders in Broome County.
