Town of Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Broome County Sheriff's Office is investigating two homicides at a home in the Town of Binghamton.

Deputies responded at approximately 11:22 a.m. to 4185 Lisi Lane. The home is owned by Aaron Powell and Christina Rumpel, according to Broome County property records.

Broome County Undersheriff Alex Minor said relatives of one resident became concerned after they could not make contact with the person starting early Friday morning. Relatives were trying to get in touch by phone and knocking on the door.

Deputies broke a window and they found a dead woman in the basement and a dead man on the second floor.

One victim lived at the home, the other did not. Minor said this is not a case of murder-suicide. They are investigating both deaths as homicides.

Autopsies will be performed Saturday on the victims. Investigators do not know how long the pair had been dead, and have not commented on how they were killed.

They also have not said how the two victims knew each other.

As of 11:35 p.m., Friday authorities were searching for the suspect.

Several times Friday evening, emergency communications reports sent out all points bulletins for the suspect.

Several county agencies named Aaron Powell as the suspect in a homicide.

One report stated that Powell may be armed with a handgun.

Another report said he could be driving a 2007 black GMC Denali with New York plates.

When asked about the public bulletin, Minor said he would not confirm nor deny the reports.

Earlier in the day, Minor said there is a 5-year-old boy who was with a babysitter at the time of the crime and that the child is related to one of the victims.

The Broome County Sheriff's Office has scheduled a press briefing for Saturday at 11 a.m.
