Women arrested for dealing heroin

Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Broome County special investigators arrested two women on a series of felony drug charges related to heroin.

The Broome County Sheriff's Office Special Investigation Unit executed a search warrant this afternoon at an apartment at 83 Grand Ave.

Arrested were Angela Tippet, 31, of Syracuse, and Melody Anderson, 22, of Johnson City.

Investigators said they found 356 glassine envelopes of heroin, materials used to package the drug, an unidentified amount of marijuana and $2,300 in suspected drug money.

Both women have prior records for selling heroin, according to a sheriff's office news release.

Each was charged Thursday with two felony counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance and using drug paraphernalia.

Tippet was additionally charged with a possession of marijuana,.

Both were arraigned and taken to the Broome County Jail without bail.
