Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The results are in from a local restaurant that brought the Binghamton's Mayoral Race into their own kitchen.

Teri Rennia is the winner of the Burger Mondays Mayoral Race Burger Poll.

More than 450 people cast their votes since the poll started on October 8. "The Rennia" burger edged a slight win over "The David" with 17 more votes.

The final tally: "The Rennia" with 242 votes, and "The David" with 225 votes.

"We had a lot of customers that actually tried both burgers and came back for their favorite," said owner and executive chef Matthew Jones. "I think that some of it definitely had to do with political preference, but others had to do with just sheer taste."

Each candidate participated in the poll by choosing the items for their own burger. "The Rennia" burger will be added to the Burger Monday's wall of fame and will be a permanent choice on the menu.

"It was good for them," said Binghamton Mayoral Candidate Teri Rennia (D). "I love to do anything that I possibly can to support local business so I'm grateful to them and I look forward to coming in and having a "Rennia Burger" down the road."
