(WBNG Binghamton) Our own Candace Chapman is celebrating 20 years with WBNG this month.

The station threw a party at Burger Monday's Friday night, with fellow and former co-workers and friends.

Candace was hired in 1994 as morning and noon anchor. She was later promoted to co-anchor of the evening newscasts with Greg Catlin.

She has also taken on management roles, first as executive producer, and for the past several years as our news director, in addition to her role as the anchor of Action News at 6 p.m.

Her work with the Action News team has brought the station recognition with awards from both the New York Associated Press and New York Broadcasters Association.

But tells us she feels her greatest accomplishment is working with and mentoring the many journalists who start their careers at WBNG and go on to achieve their own goals.

Candace says she's always thankful for the support of WBNG staff, and countless people in the community who have been so welcoming and appreciative.
