Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A car crashes into a wall at Wilson Hospital.

It happened on Harrison Street in the Village of Johnson City around 9:20 AM on Tuesday.

Johnson City's Fire and Police Departments responded to the scene.

Police say an elderly woman was exiting the parking lot from across the street from Wilson Hospital.

When the woman stopped to pay for parking at the gate, police say she accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.

The car sped across Harrison street and crashed into a wall right in front of Wilson Hospital.

Investigators tell Action News the car landed in between Wilson Hospital sign and the wall - and it looks like the sign kept the vehicle from rolling over.

Union Ambulance responded to the crash, and the woman was taken to Wilson Hospital. Her condition is not known at this time.
