Liberty, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The battle between Tioga Downs and Traditions at the Glen to win a casino license in the Southern Tier rages on, but there are other licenses in the state up for grabs.

About an hour and a half east of Binghamton, Foxwoods Catskills Resort Casino is putting the final touches on its plans.

"What we're looking to create here is something that will blend in with the area, but also have some energy and some 'umph' to it," said Sal Semola, President of Foxwoods Catskills Resort Casino.

The proposed casino is a part of the Catskills/Hudson Valley Region. Like the Southern Tier region, it could be awarded up to two casinos.

If Foxwoods receives the bid, the plans call for a large gaming space, restaurants, a luxury hotel and several indoor and outdoor sporting activities.

"Our architects described it as a contemporary lodge, so it'll have some of that look and feel that a lodge would with a little bit of energy to it on top of that," said Semola.

Wednesday night, Foxwoods cut the ribbon on its new project headquarters in Liberty where it announced the "We Support Foxwoods" initiative to garner letters of support from local officials and residents.

Foxwoods wired in the $1 million application fee this week and will attend a bidders conference next week.
