(WBNG Binghamton) An automated email sent by the Chenango Valley Central School District says Wednesday's two-hour delay wasn't the result of weather, but "an emailed threat."
The automated email -- sent to parents and guardians of district students -- was sent at 9:48 a.m.
It said the district notified law enforcement of the threat, and all school buildings were placed on immediate lockdown.
Buildings and grounds of each property in the district were searched by law enforcement agencies "as an additional precautionary measure," according to the email.
The contents of the email were not released.
