(WBNG Binghamton) The city of Binghamton will shut down a local nightclub they say has been the site of repeated gambling, drug activity and violent crime.

The lockdown order for 17 East on Clinton Street was approved today by a city judge. The business will be shut down immediately, according to a news release from the city.

Although a city spokesman declined to say for how long the business will be shuttered, the court may close a business for up to a year

The Clinton Street nightclub was among the locations that were part of the investigation that led to the recent arrest of 14 supposed members of the "Bloods" gang.

It's been the site of several disturbances during the past year, the news release stated.

The city is expected to release more information during a press conference Friday morning.
