Cortland man arrested for making meth

Town of Scott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) On Saturday, the Cortland County Drug Task Force conducted a drug investigation on and raided a location off of the Hewitt Road Truck Trail in the town of Scott.

Joshua W. Pittsley, 31, of Cortland, was arrested for making and manufacturing methamphetamine. Deputies say Pittsley was in the process of making meth and had an active lab.

The New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Response Team was called in to assist due to the contaminants that are used in the process of making methamphetamine.

The Environmental Protection Service was also contacted to assist in the clean-up. A representative of the Department of Environmental Conservation also responded to the scene.

Pittsley was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine in the third degree, unlawful disposal of methamphetamine laboratory material -- all felonies -- and criminally using drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.

Pittsley was arraigned in the Town of Preble Court and taken to the Cortland County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.
