Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) After the votes came in, Democrat candidate Dan Lamb took the stage at the Riverwalk hotel to thank everyone who worked on his campaign over the past few months.

Lamb said despite his loss to Republican incumbent U.S. Representative Richard Hanna, based on unofficial results, he is proud of his campaign.

Dan Lamb was running in the newly re-drawn 22nd Congressional Districts.

"Running for office is a journey," he said. "We started this journey back in March. We didn't have a particularly long campaign season, because we didn't learn these districts until mid-March, so I think the amount of distance we traveled in that amount of time is something I am very proud of."

Looking ahead, Lamb said he is excited to spend time with his son and explore new interests.
