A new year, but old issues in Dimock Township.
While Carter Road residents continue their fight for clean drinking water, they are now asking Township supervisors to step down.
In December, Dimock residents and supervisors practically kicked out Binghamton Mayor Matt Ryan, just as he was offering neighbors living along Carter Road assistance through drums of drinking water.
Supervisors turned down that offer.
Tuesday, those same residents are requesting that town supervisors step down.
Meanwhile, other Dimock residents say their neighbors living along Carter Road have nothing to complain about.
More than two years of anger boiled over Tuesday in Dimock Township as two sides in a divided community make their case.
While Dimock Township will not provide Carter Road residents with water, those residents are now claiming Township supervisors held private meetings with officials from Cabot Oil and Gas.
Neighbors say those meetings should have been public and now plan to take the issue to court.
Township supervisors say private meetings were never held.
Other neighbors say issues over fracking have left the town split in two.
"I think that they have a sense of entitlement at times. They signed a contract with Cabot, They need to take the matters up with Cabot in their lawsuit and not have it involve the rest of the Township--
smearing our Township. We live in a good community," says Township resident Terry Way.
Carter Road residents say they only want compassion from the Township.
"I drove up here and saw all these people coming out of the Township meeting-- what the heck? There was a meeting and we don't know anything about it. I'm a township resident, I'm a taxpayer,"
says Julie Sautner.
Meanwhile, Township supervisors say their hands are tied.
"I don't know what else we can do. If there is something we can do I would be happy to entertain that idea," says Paul Jennings.
At this point, Town Supervisors are waiting to see if Carter Road neighbors will pursue any legal action through the State of Pennsylvania.
