Binghamton, N.Y. (WBNG Binghamton) A unique treat was offered to children on Wednesday at the Discovery Center.

The learning center hosted a book signing and reading of "Silly Nomads of Palmerston Close," by the two authors, Marcus Mohalland and Jan Lewis.

The goal of the authors was to bring the joy of reading and learning to the kids.

"It's a very dynamic, unique story and we are hoping that the public will enjoy the books," stated co-author Marcus Mohalland.

"Silly Nomads of Palmerston Close" is based on the author's childhood experiences growing up in Jamaica. The book is the first of a three part series, with the next one coming out in June.

After the reading, the authors encouraged the kids to take part in crafts and activities that were based on the book's characters.
