Town of Union, NY (WBNG-Binghamton) You may heard of Woodstock, but how about Woofstock? That's the name of a fundraiser held on Satrurday for the Broome County Humane Society.

Gates opened at 11 a.m. at the Enjoie Golf Course in Endicott. Live music from bands like Citizen 5 and Chris Ruffo kicked off shortly after and continued throughout the day.

Custom-designed Woofstock t-shirts were available, and appropriately tie-dyed to go along with the '60s theme. There were even adoptable dogs at the event.

Organizers of the event said fundraisers like Woofstock are what keep the Humane Society able to do its job-- rescue animals.

"Seeing the support we get from the community because we don't get any government funding and we depend on these types of events to keep the shelter running and to feed the animals," said Ann Eno and Jamie Koliander, with the Humane Society.

The Humane Society said they've seen an increase in abandoned animals over the past few years. Some of the money from this fundraiser will go toward its new facility.
