Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A man from Binghamton was recently diagnosed with brain cancer.

His name is Dan Rogers, or "D-Rog," as his friends called him, and he has an inoperable brain tumor.

"I love him very much," said Nick Libous, a friend of Rogers. "Many people here love him very much and you'll see that by what we're doing for him today. He's a very special person."

Rogers lives in Philadelphia now, but friends and family back home in Binghamton are showing their support.

They met Saturday at the American Legion on Clinton Street to raise money to help him pay his medical bills.

They held raffles, auctions and sold food.

The money will also be used to help Rogers pay for his day-to-day costs of living.
