Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) An annual Christmas dinner for those without a place got a boost from a local business partner.

Sam's Club presented a $2,000 check to the Bandera Family and Community Alliance.

"Our community has gone through a lot over the last couple of years," said Sam's Club store manager Jonathan Buckley, "And it's great to see somebody with such a big heart give back every year"

The Bandera family holds an annual Christmas dinner each year.

It recruits hundreds of volunteers for the dinner.

They serve more than 4,600 meals each Christmas, including more than 1,500 delivered meals.

"Whatever their situation is, we provide a place where people can come and eat and feel and be treated like family," said William Bandera, president of the alliance, "And that's really why we keep doing it."

The organization will take volunteers starting on December 17th.

They need help with anything from food prep to service.
