Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Thousands decided not to drive 13.1 miles Sunday morning, but rather run it at the Bridge Run in Binghamton.

The Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce held its fourth annual Bridge Run Sunday morning and about 2,400 runners participated.

This year's run had a record high number of people from all ages and backgrounds that ran the race.

"We had some six and seven year olds, we had some 80 year olds," said Lou Santoni, President of the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce.

Santoni added there were people who ran Sunday's race who came from at least a dozen different states. One runner even came from Brazil.

The Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce said there will be a another Bridge Run next year and registration for that will start in December.

The race is a fundraiser for the local Chamber of Commerce.
