Endicott issues drinking water warning

Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Endicott officials have issued a drinking water warning for the village.

According to the Village of Endicott Water Department, there was an unauthorized use of multiple hydrants in their water system around 10 a.m. Saturday.

As a result, system pressure dropped and dirty water ran through the system around Endwell and north Endicott.

As of 5:30 p.m. Saturday, the department said most of the water had been replenished.

If residents see dirty water, the department advises people to use water sparingly through Saturday night.

They also advise people to not do laundry because it could stain clothing.

If water remains dirty Saturday night, the department suggests running cold water for five minutes. If it still doesn't clear up, try running cold water again about an hour later.
