Four arrested in Norwich for drugs

Norwich, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Norwich Police arrested several people after drugs were turned up in a home.

A search warrant was executed at 23 Silver Street in Norwich around 5 p.m. Thursday.

Police found a large amount of crack, heroin, and other drug paraphernalia, adding up to a substantial amount.

“The street value of the narcotics recovered was substantial. I estimate in the thousands of dollars” said Norwich Police Detective Michael Purdy.

Three men and one woman was arrested, concluding the department's investigation.

Norwich police officers said they had been aware of the activities for a matter of weeks, but needed to collect enough evidence to apply for a search warrant.

Three out of the four people arrested face felonies and are being held at the Norwich Police lock-up awaiting arraignment in Norwich City Court.

Charges:

1) Rodney H. Maclaury, Jr, 23, Norwich
-Two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance (One count for crack cocaine, and one count for heroin), felonies
-Criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor
-Criminal nuisance, felony
-Criminally using drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor

2) Kamiel L. Fleury, 17, Binghamton
-Two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance (One count for crack cocaine, and one count for heroin), felonies
-Criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor
-Criminally using drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor

3) Amanda L. Strozier, 25, Norwich
-Two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance (One count for crack cocaine, and one count for heroin), felonies
-Criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor
-Criminal nuisance, felony
-Criminally using drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor

4) Kevin J. Dunmire, 33, Norwich
-Loitering for purpose of using controlled substances, misdemeanor

Maclaury, Fleury, and Strozier were taken to the Norwich Police lock-up, until their scheduled arraignments in Norwich City Court.

Dunmire was released on appearance ticket for city court on July 1.
