Binghamton, N.Y. (WBNG Binghamton) The Children's Charity of Greater Binghamton hosted it's second annual Egg Hunt at Recreation Park.

The event was free to the public and included breakfast, a visit from the Easter Bunny, and a massive egg hunt.

"What we have today is over 10,000 Easter eggs hidden throughout Rec park in Binghamton and right in the middle of the community," said Jim Worhach, President of the Children's Charity of Greater Binghamton.

Those eggs were hunted down and quickly found by nearly 1,500 people who attended the event.

Those who found eggs opened them to see that it was filled with mostly candy, but some eggs had special prizes. Those special prizes included tickets for a toy, Animal Adventure tickets, and even Binghamton Senators tickets.

Event coordinators said this event is important for the community and they will be having another one next year.
