Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Many of the thousands of fans who attended the 8th Dick's Sporting Goods Open on Saturday got in for free. It's all thanks to one local law firm.

Hinman, Howard & Kattell LLP (HHK) sponsored admission to the public for the day.

Hundreds of tickets to the tournament were given out, saving golf fans up to $25 a person.

Fans were able to get a free ticket by printing a voucher online or stopping by one of the distribution sites.

This is the 6th year HH&K has sponsored free admission for a day at the open.

The company said it hopes this contribution is one fans can pay forward.

"It's also a great opportunity for us the get the community out here to see some golf, enjoy the day, so to speak. Hopefully they'll come down, get in with their free ticket. Maybe they'll buy some concessions, and just really help to spur what's going on here," said Stacey Axtell, of HH&K.

Over the years, this event has contributed nearly $13 million to local Broome County Charities.
