Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Johnson City's democratic mayoral candidate Barrett Esworthy casts his vote while celebrating the birth of his son, Adam.

Esworthy voted around 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Family Enrichment Network in Johnson City.

Esworthy said he's been visiting with his newborn son that joined the family on Friday.

He considers himself the underdog in this election but said he thinks the people of Johnson City are ready for a change.

"We ran a campaign based solely on proposing bold ideas to the people of Johnson City," said Esworthy, "Especially the initiative with property tax relief and sharing more services with neighboring communities and we think that's the message Johnson City voters want to hear."

Esworthy said he'll be spending the rest of the day working at his real estate management company and visiting with his family. He'll find out the results at the Democrat watch party Tuesday night at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Binghamton.
