Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) For players, each decision on the course matters. The day is filled with strategy, not just for the 81 players, but fans included.

At the 8th Dick's Sporting Goods Open thousands of fans employed two specific strategies to maximize the day.

Some fans walked the entire 18 hole course and followed their favorite players.

"We just want to see all the different holes and all the different players to watch them hit good shots and bad shots," said Conner Smith of Vestal.

Other fans picked a spot, near one of the holes and stayed there for the day. A popular hole, on Saturday, was the second on the course.

"It's easy to get a good vantage point for the players coming in, you can get really up close," said George Dickenson of Locke, NY.

From just that one spot, the second hole, you can see at least three other holes on the course.

Fans who favor this strategy said they get the chance to see all the players, and that's more important to them than seeing more of the course.

Sunday will be the last day for fans to enjoy the Open, sitting down or on their feet.
