Neighborhood fight leads to one arrest

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A neighborhood fight in Binghamton on June 18 resulted in one arrest.

Shaquell Heyliger, 21, was taken to the Broome County Jail without bail.

Binghamton Police responded to the fight near 34 Winding Way just after 3 p.m. this past Wednesday.

According to police, a man was seen chasing someone with a handgun. Police searched a home during the investigation, but no handgun was found.

Binghamton Police said one person was taken to the hospital after Heyliger hit them in the face with a scooter, causing the person to lose several teeth.

Heyliger was arrested on June 18 on an active bench warrant for disorderly conduct in the Village Johnson City.

Police charged Heyliger with assault in the second degree on June 25.
