Bainbridge, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Twelve fire departments respond to a fire that broke out in a machine shop.

Crews were called at approximately 6 a.m. Thursday to Upturn Industries Inc. at 2-4 Whitney Way.

Officials said late Thursday nearly 80 percent of the building was destroyed.

No one was in the building when the hours-long blaze began, and no one was injured.

Officials called in multiple tankers because the water supply was scarce.

In fact, crews were seen drawing some of the water used to fight the fire from the river.

"Our village hydrant system couldn't support the amount of water flow we needed. So we ended up calling a lot of tankers from outreach departments," said Bainbridge fire chief, Kyle Simpkn

Bainbridge, Afton, Sidney, Guilford, Greene, Harpursville, Trout Creek, Unadilla, Franklin, Coventry, Port Crane and Masonville fire departments responded.

The fire is still under investigation.
