Firefighter injured in Saturday morning blaze

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) An early morning fire leaves a Binghamton firefighter with injuries after the roof collapsed.

According to Binghamton Fire Department, the call came in for a house fire on 121 Eldredge St. at 12:28 a.m.

When they arrived on scene, the porch was fully engulfed in flames and spread into the front of the first and second floor apartments.

A Binghamton firefighter was sent to the hospital when the roof collapsed. He was released with minor injuries later Saturday morning.

The two-family home was occupied at the time of the fire.

It took more than three hours to put out the two-alarm fire.

The fire is under investigation.
