Firefighter accused of stealing from department

Town of Plymouth, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A volunteer fire department member and treasurer was arrested for stealing thousands of dollars, according to New York State Police.

On Tuesday, troopers arrested Andrew B. Cushman, 25, of Plymouth.

State Police responded to the Plymouth Fire Department on State Route 23 for a reported theft of department funds.

After an investigation, state police determined Cushman stole more than $10,000 from the department's bank accounts.

He was the treasurer for the fire department.

Cushman was charged with grand larceny in the third degree, a felony. He was arraigned in the Plymouth Town Court and released.
