Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) With the fireworks display at Johnson City Field Days Monday night, it's officially the end of summer.

"I come here to enjoy the fireworks," said Liston Walters, of Johnson City. "Great show."

Thousands joined Walters as people packed the field and roadways to catch the show.

Fireworks of all colors and shapes lit up the sky over Northside Park.

"I've been scared, scared of fireworks," said Aubrey Marroquin, of Binghamton. "I'm looking forward to finding them, like looking at them."

The fireworks are the end to the 46th annual Field Days.

"I mean, I love Labor Day, don't get me wrong," said Mirsaea Fafulovic, of Port Crane, "Kids are going back to school, but I wish the summer could still stay here, ya know?"

Field Days are a fundraiser for the village and a final send-off to summer with students headed back to school this week.
