Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) About 2.7 million children in the United States have parents who are in prison. On Saturday, Binghamton's First Assembly of God brought Christmas to 40 of them.

The church's first Angel Tree Party gave kids the chance to get a small gift, while bonding with adults who care about them.

"We’re simply just reaching out trying to show these kids that we do care," said organizer Heather Sackett. "People do care that they’re not alone."

The event featured several arts and craft stations. At the end, gifts and stockings were given out to all the participants. First Assembly of God has reached out to more than 100 kids with incarcerated parents.
