Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Trout season opened Tuesday in New York State.

But some may have thought the trout were playing an April Fools Day joke.

Anglers said the river was too fast for them to catch anything.

Fishing licenses are required for anyone over the age of 16.

You can get more information by going to the New York Department of Environmental Conservation website.

The season runs through Oct. 15.
