Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Five people are under arrest after a prostitution sting over the internet.

The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force ran an internet prostitution sting using the website “backpage.com”.

The Taskforce has recently seen more females seeking customers through the website.

The Taskforce used a local motel to contact the females and set up meetings between the women and undercover officers.

The sting led to the arrests of five women.

Mary C. Hayhurst, 35, of Binghamton, Charise M. Shaw, 29, of Binghamton, Deana A. Olmstead, 21, of Windsor, an unnamed 31 year old female from Binghamton, and Jessica A. Bennett, 18, of Binghamton were all arrested and charged with One Count of Prostitution.

Bennett also faces a Count of Endangering the welfare of a child because she brought a 15 year old female to the motel who was also taking part in the prostitution activities under Bennett's direction.

The fifteen year old female was released to her parents and will be petitioned into family court.

All the women were issued appearance tickets for Town of Dickinson Court at a later date.
