Flash Flooding In Johnson City : Stella Ireland Rd. Reopened

Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Johnson City police and emergency crews work into Tuesday night to fight flash flooding.

Broome County 911 Center says crews closed East Maine Rd between Reynolds Rd and Stella Ireland Rd just before 10 p.m.. This, due to flash flooding.

The road re-opened around midnight.

Action News videographer Jim Rotundo captured water rushing down Reynolds Road, in front of the Oakdale Mall.

The Broome County 911 Center says emergency response crews were working all around the village.

911 traffic reports throughout the evening indicated crews were barricading roads -- one instance near the intersection of Burbank Ave and Grand Ave in the village, as well as on several roads in Vestal and Endicott.
