Brackney, PA (WBNG Binghamton) Some people in Susquehanna County had to be evacuated Thursday night due to flash flooding.

Around 9 p.m., approximately ten people were evacuated from the Choconut Trailer Park in Brackney, according to Jay Klein, Silver Lake Twp. Fire Chief.

The Broome County Swift Water Team, and crews from Vestal and Endwell were called to the scene but no one had to be rescued, according to Susquehanna County Emergency Management.

In Friendsville, the Choconut Creek was high in the area of Carmalt Road. The water was all the way up to the bridge.

"The road is washed out if we go down there, we lost a good chunk of the road. We don't know the condition of the bridge is in. Makes it really difficult for the swift water rescue team to get across. They can easily get sucked down in there," said Klein.

Rescue teams said the water was eight to ten feet higher than normal levels.
