Town of Chenango, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Hillside Garden Center will host their Second Annual Flower Fashions Event Saturday at their location on Upper Front Street in Binghamton.
The day's festivities include trendy plants showcased on the "Red Carpet," hands-on demonstrations, local artists and sales on plants and other items.
"It's the perfect time of year," said Hillside owner Casey Krause. "Everybody is starting to wake up, we just got good weather, and who doesn't want to get out there and start making plans. I'm sure people are doodling at work what they want to put in their gardens."
Heidi Mortensen of Prides Corner Farms, talked about new plants hardy to this area.
"My favorite new one this year is called Hydrangea tough stuff. If you've ever had problems getting your blue hydrangeas to bloom every year, there's a much hardier hydrangea on the market this year. We'd love to have people come down and we can show them and talk to them about it."
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Around 11 a.m., Jessey Chaboudy from Smart Pot, will demonstrate one of their new trends for raised-bed planting.
