Four arrested on heroin charges (with photos)

Norwich, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Four people were arrested on heroin charges after police search a home in Norwich.

Police executed a "no-knock" search at approximately 10:45 p.m. Wednesday at 7B State St.

Norwich Police said they found a large quantity of heroin during the search. They did not say exactly how much was found.

The four were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument and possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors.

Arrested Wednesday were Ashley N. Babcock, 25 and Eneth M. Davenport, 35, both of Norwich. Each was additionally charged with criminal nuisance, a class E felony.

Also arrested were Randy R. Buck, Jr., 28, of Sherburne, and Michael A. Marshall, 24, of Vestal. Marshall was additionally charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony.

They are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Norwich City Court.

Police believe the heroin was being transported to the Norwich area from the Southern Tier.
