Four women stabbed and hospitalized

Ithaca, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Ithaca Police Department made an arrest in connection with a large fight that left four people injured.

Dante Sweat,17 of Ithaca is charged with assault.

Ithaca police responded to the 600 block of Chestnut Street around 8:50 p.m. Thursday.

Two officers found a woman on the street with a stab wound to her neck area. Three additional women were found with stab wounds by other officers.

Bangs Ambulances were brought to the scene. All four victims were transported to the Cayuga Medical Center for treatment.

Three of the women were transferred to a regional trauma center. The fourth victim was treated and released from the hospital.

According to the press release, the stab wounds do not appear to be life threatening.

Several subjects were taken into custody. Sweat was arraigned on the assault charge in city court and sent to the Tompkins County jail with bail set at $5,000 cash. The investigation is continuing and other charges are pending.

Ithaca Police were assisted at the scene by New York State Police, New York State Park Police, New York State DEC Police, Tompkins County Sheriff and the Cayuga Heights Police Department.
