Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Hundreds show up at a free clinic to prepare for flu season. The Point of Dispensing or P.O.D. was working together with the Broome County Health Department to offer free flu shots Monday.
The flu shots are available at the Broome County Health Department from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Monday night.
This year the health department will be testing an online preregistration form to increase efficiency and decrease wait time.
The county says this is a practice to make sure their systems are ready to go.
Those registering online must print out their registration forms and bring it with them to the P.O.D.
Walk-ins are welcome but may experience delays.
Public Health Director Claudia Edwards said, "We are testing our on-line electronic scheduling system, so that people are registered prior to attending, We are also testing our ability to accept walk-ins."
