Town of Chenango, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Flooding started late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning in the area of McGirk's Irish Pub on Route 12A.

The owner of the property said he put up water walls that stopped the flow from reaching the building.

"I got a text around midnight last night that the ice broke in Port Crane came down and jammed under the bridge,” said McGirk’s Owner Tim Ward. “Then it takes a matter of minutes and the water comes back up through the golf course and the parking lot."

The water has since frozen over.

"There's really not much we can do now. It's so cold out everything froze solid all the was to the parking lot. We had a couple of big events scheduled here at McGirk's today, we've cancelled those events. One was with the Binghamton Chamber, their networking lunch was cancelled. Tonight we'll probably go on business as usually."

Thursday's Binghamton Chamber meeting that was to be held at McGirk's has been cancelled due to the flooding. Ward said he expects business will continue as usual Thursday night.
