UPDATE: Endwell man arrested, has homemade bomb

Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) An Endwell man, who has been on the run for three months, is now in the Broome County Correctional Facility.

Jeffrey R. Blunk, 23, is charged in connection with possessing a homemade explosive devices, and more charges are expected.

The Broome County Sheriff's Office said law enforcement agencies responded to 3410 Luther St. in Endwell Friday afternoon.

According to Broome County Sheriff David Harder, the bomb squad was called to the scene due to Blunk's criminal history.

"We had information that the subject was known to maybe have a hand grenade and other weapons when he came when he left Illinois," said David Harder.

The SWAT Team, along with the US Marshals, Endicott Bomb Squad, New York State Police, and Broome County Sheriff's responded to the scene.

Law enforcement agencies were on the scene throughout Friday night and resumed searching the house Saturday morning.

Harder said they did find illegal items.

The search concluded around 3 p.m. Saturday.

Blunk is also wanted in Illinois for drug and weapon possession, however no charges have yet been linked to New York State.

Blunk was arraigned in the Town of Union Court and was sent to Broome County Sheriffs Correctional without bail.
